“As
one who was initially opposed to spending the money I quickly changed my opinion
and believe that in the long run your methods and
insights actually save us money
and much more.“
Effective
Executive Teaming is our "off-the-shelf" training program designed to
assist executive
teams in strengthening the strategic leadership of their organization. We
have provided this service
for scores of organizations with consistent success and to enthusiastic
response.
The
Effective Executive Teaming program has several modules that are
assembled to address the
specific interests of teams. Typically, groups choose to use the full
program, which spans five days
over two sessions. The first session is focused more internally on
strengthening the team’s cohesiveness,
increasing self-knowledge within a team context, and developing more skills
and insights into applying
vision elements to teaming and organizational work prioritization. The second
session, usually conducted
three to six months later, is more of a practicum where skills and insights
are highlighted and emphasized
in actual work situations. With some clients, we return periodically for “advanced” work as team
membership
changes and/or as teams desire to further challenge themselves in enhancing their
effectiveness.
Team cohesiveness is developed
through a variety of mechanisms, all of which contribute to a common
understanding of each other’s and collective team values. Development of
group behavioral norms
(sometimes called team agreements, tenets, or operating principles) is one
key avenue; clarity about
applied vision is another. An important tool we use to increase
self-knowledge and enhance effective
communication is the Personal Strengths Profile. This instrument provides a
comprehensive look at
each individual’s personality styles, providing information about how those
styles shift in relation to
pressure/stress and contribute to communication preferences (for more
information, see
PREP-profiles).
We also use the collective “picture” provided by the instruments to talk
about “team personality” and
how that contributes to the team’s strengths and challenges. Decision-making
and language tools are
some other key components to effective teaming and in moving from managerial
perspectives into those
of leaders and leadership.
We also offer a similar
session for groups and teams that are not executives; in most cases, the
vision-based and strategic planning modules are not included in
Effective Teaming.
We believe in the value of
the full program so much that we offer a discount when clients take
advantage of the full five days. Call or email us and let's get started!
